2005 ??

The Initial formulation and the first meeting of preparatory committee were held.

 

2006

– The Hope Institute was founded by Wonsoon Park who served as its first president (Current the Mayor of Seoul Metropolitan City).

– The first international conference on “Korean Think Tank and Finding Solutions” was held to introduce mission and vision of The Hope Institute.

– ‘Center for Local Law’ and ‘Center for World Green Space’ was founded.

 

2007

– A seminar was held to celebrate founding of ‘Center for Public Finance’

– ‘Center for Disaster Management’ and ‘Center for Small Enterprise’ was founded.

– Hope Institute Japan was established.

 

2008

– The Hope Institute celebrated its second anniversary.

– Inspired by the ideas of photographer Youngho Kim, the Institute launched its first photo exhibition of “You are KOREA”. It carried on the tradition of celebrating the image of ordinary people in daily life.

– ‘Homin Gwan Club’ was inaugurated with members of the National Assembly in order to listen to the voice of the citizen.

 

2009

– The Hope Institute and the National Assembly Library signed a memorandum of understanding.

– The Mapo borough of Seoul and the Hope Institute has agreed to sign on comprehensive convention.

– A workshop was held on “Social Designers’ of Korea and Japan”

– ‘NPO Information Center’ and ‘Hope Doremi’ was founded.

– A seminar on “Korean Economic Crisis and Solutions” inaugurated a series.

– “Hope Makers Club” was organized in response to supporters of the Hope Institute has made donations .

– The Hope Institute celebrated its 3rd anniversary and “Night for the Supporters” opened on March 24.

 

2010

– The Institute launched its second photo exhibition of “You are KOREA” at Busan. It carried on the tradition of celebrating the image of ordinary people in daily life.

– The Hope Institute launched its project of “LETS”. Today, the independent non-profit organization carries on the tradition of encouraging the second career of senior in meaningful social purpose work.

– ‘Mokmin Gwan Club’ was inaugurated with members of the Mayor in order to listen to the voice of the citizen.

– Project for Public Space (PPS) and the Hope Institute has singed partnership agreement’.

 

2011

– INTEL Korea and the the Hope Institute signed a MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) on “Capacity Building of Asia NGO”.

– The Hope Institute embarked on “Hope Train” national tour on March 7.

– The Hope Institute celebrated its 5th anniversary with a conference on “Are you doing GOOD?”.

 

2012

– Seokin Yun was elected president of the Hope Institute.

– Jaeseung Park was appointed as the chairman of the board.

– Wanju Community Center and the Hope Institute signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on a project “Capacity Building of Local Community with Sustainability”

– Gangdong Social Economy Support Center was founded.

 

2013

– The first hope report on “36 hours to Change the World: Social Innovation Camp” was released.

– “Senior Dream Festival” was held and it allowing seniors to present well-executed?social ideas.

– “Living a rural life”?program series was established in order to engage its people in realistic practice and study about living a rural life.

– “Young Generation?School of Life” launched, allowing young generations to examine what the humanities mean to their daily lives.

– “Citizen Roundtable Discussion” was created to examine societal issues related to local government policy, welfare, and system through a combination of roundtable discussion with 300 citizens at Siheung district.

– 2013 Asia NGO International Summit (ANIS) was held at Thailand to build capacity of Asian NGO.

– “Seoul Social Economy Idea Competition” was held and “Social Innovation 2.0 Platform” was completed.

 

2014

– “There(Social Innovation Space)”, “Hope Center for Social Entrepreneurs” ?outsourced to the Hope Institute.

– The Circle Foundation and the Hope Institute?signed a MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) on “Communication Program of Inter-Generation”.

– A donation story?book <You are a good hope: 1004 club>?was released.

– The Hope Institute celebrated its 8th anniversary and “It ‘s all right, It’s HOPE:?Night for the Supporters” was held?on December 11.

 

2015

– Wonjae Lee was elected president of the Hope Institute.

– New version of?hope report on “36 hours to Change the World: Social Innovation Camp” was released.

– Wonjae Lee was elected president of the Hope Institute.

– Representatives from Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation (China), Nippon Foundation (Japan) and the Hope Institute (Korea) held their first international workshop about East Asia Social Innovation Initiatives (EASII) in Tokyo, Japan.

– Wanju County and the?Hope Institute signed a MOU(Memorandum of Understanding)?and the policy development forum?on local government and society was formed.

– EASII held its second event, two day workshop with 2015 Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF) on Seoul, Korea. The workshop featured 20 distinguished researchers, government officers and social entrepreneurs from three different countries to offer a new paradigm for social innovation in East Asia.
